Mahoba, July 27 (HS). A truck hit an e-rickshaw on Saturday on the Kanpur Sagar National Highway of the district. The rickshaw driver and his aunt died in the accident and the uncle and four cousins are seriously injured. Three have been referred to the medical college as their condition is critical. The police, who arrived on the information, sent the bodies for post-mortem.
Surendra Ahirwar (25), a resident of Bara village of Srinagar police station area, was going to drop his uncle Ramasare Ahirwar (42), aunt Kamlesh (39) and their daughter Roshni (17), son Hemant (15) and son Puneet (13) in an e-rickshaw at the bus stand located at the district headquarters. A speeding truck hit the e-rickshaw near Bara Nala on Kanpur Sagar National Highway. All the people were injured in the accident. The injured were admitted to the district hospital for treatment, where the doctor declared Surendra and his aunt Kamlesh dead on seeing them. At the same time, Ramasare and his daughter Roshni and son Hemant were referred from the district hospital to the medical college due to their critical condition. The youngest son Puneet is undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
According to the family members, Ramasare Ahirwar lived with his wife and children in the city of Mathura and worked as a labourer to support his family. He had come to his village a few days ago and was now going to Mathura again for work. After the incident, the driver fled leaving the truck on the spot.
