Jalaun, 26 July (HS). On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the soldiers who were martyred in this war are being remembered. By winning this war, Indian soldiers had shown their bravery. At the same time, martyr Yogendra Pal of Chilli village of Jalaun is being remembered today. The family is proud of his martyrdom and the government is also honoring the family members of the soldiers.
Actually, Yogendra Pal, a resident of Chilli village of Jalaun, took part in this war and defeated his opponents and even after being injured, sacrificed his last breath in the name of the country. His family is saddened by the martyrdom of Martyr Yogendra Pal, while the villagers here feel proud to be called the village of a martyr.
Martyr Yogendra Pal of Kargil war joined EM6-631 regiment of Indian army in 1996. He made the enemies accept the strength of Indian army in the war that lasted for 90 days from May to July 1999 between India and Pakistan. In this war that lasted for 3 months, every soldier of Indian army fought till his last breath in the temperature of -30 degrees. Martyr Yogendra Pal was injured on Kargil Vijay Diwas 26 July due to stepping on a mine during the search operation after the war and was martyred on 7 August 1999. An entrance gate and memorial has been built in Chilli village in his memory.
