Women made aware of their rights

Meerut, July 25 (HS). On the theme of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, a program was organized by the Women Welfare Department at Sakhi One Stop Center Medical College on Thursday, in which women were given information about their rights and government schemes.

A testing workshop was organized on Thursday at Sakhi One Stop Center Medical College. District Probation Officer Atul Soni made women aware of their rights. During this, information was given about Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, sponsorship scheme, destitute pension etc. Women were told to be cautious about incidents of sexual harassment. Information about government-run helpline numbers 1098, 181, 1090 was also provided in the testing workshop. Everyone was made aware to end the dowry system, stop the evil practice of child marriage, stop child labor. On this occasion, Law cum Probation Officer Dr. Shriti Sagar, Protection Officer Deepika Bhatnagar, Project Coordinator Manmohan Singh from Child Line, Advocate Mukesh Kumar, Vinita etc. were present.
