Hamirpur, July 24 (HS). The court of Additional Sessions Judge FTC First Manoj Kumar gave the verdict on Wednesday in the seven-year-old Gangster Act case. The court has sentenced seven convicts, including the gang leader, to eight years of rigorous imprisonment. Also, a fine of five thousand rupees has been imposed on each of them. If the fine is not paid, additional punishment will have to be suffered.
Special Public Prosecutor Sushil Kumar Tripathi said that Majhgawan police station in-charge Vishnu Kumar Mishra had registered a case against eight gangsters including the gang leader under Gangster Act on 18 March 2015. In which it was told that gang leader Munim Singh, resident of Sargaon, is a person of criminal nature. Many cases including murder are registered against him. He forms his well-organized gang and extorts money by murder, rioting and assault. Active members of his gang are Shatrughan Singh, Raghavendra Singh, Trilok Singh, Dharm Singh, Amar Singh, Jitwar and Hansraj. Who are involved in anti-social activities. There is fear of them among the public. No person is ready to testify against them. Many cases of murder, rioting, assault, theft, Arms Act and extortion are registered against them. While hearing the case, the court has sentenced seven culprits including gang leader Munim Singh, Shatrughan Singh, Trilok Singh, Dharm Singh, Amar Singh, Jitwar and Hansraj. While one accused Raghvendra Singh died during the trial.
