Mirzapur 24 July (HS). Kisan Diwas was organized in the auditorium located at Patharhiya on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Vishal Kumar. Deputy Agriculture Director Vikesh Kumar Patel read out the previous proceedings related to Kisan Diwas and also told about the solutions to the problems of the farmers present.
Bhakiyu District President Kanchan Singh Fauji said that the compensation and bonus amount of some farmers of village Kundadih, Jadavpur, Karhat, Pakri, Baraipur and other villages under Chunar Tehsil has not been paid yet. Compensation should be given. Farmer Core Committee Convenor Bhasle Bihari Bhai Patel said that the district is in the grip of severe drought. Action should be taken to declare the district drought-hit.
Farmer leader Siddhnath Singh informed that three kilometers of Dhuria Minor is damaged, it should be repaired. Also, one and a half kilometer road near Bhandari Devi temple is damaged, it should also be repaired. Village head Babura Raghunath Singh, development block Haliya Upasana Singh told that the means of irrigation in the village is completely dependent on electricity. Electricity comes with very low voltage due to which the motor cannot run, it should be repaired. Similarly, other farmers of the district also informed about their problems.
The Chief Development Officer assured the farmers about the problems raised by them and said that their problems will be resolved soon. He distributed a sapling to each farmer and appealed to them to plant it. During this time, district level officers of agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, cooperatives, electricity, irrigation and other agriculture related departments were present along with the farmers who came from the development blocks of the district.
