New Zealand has made an important announcement regarding visa, which will benefit Indians a lot. Actually, under the Parent Resident Visa, New Zealanders can now keep their parents with them permanently. The process of a native visa involves submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). If it meets the requirements, an Invitation to Apply (ITA) is issued by Immigration New Zealand (INZ). ITA-eligible persons can apply for residence within four months. The price of a parent resident visa starts at 3180 New Zealand dollars. More than two lakh people from India live in New Zealand, so Indians will directly benefit from this.
According to Financial Express, Immigration New Zealand can approve a maximum of 2000 visas every year from those who submit EOIs before the announcement of resumption of elections on October 10, 2022. Those who submit EOIs on or after October 10, 2022, can be granted a maximum of 500 visas in a year. These EOIs are selected through a draw. If someone has submitted an EOI under a parent resident visa before October 12, it can be withdrawn or updated.
The Parent Resident Visa resumes on October 12, 2022, with different requirements for sponsors. Applicants must now earn 1.5 times the New Zealand average wage. Not only an adult child and their partner but also two adult children can now jointly support a parent. Other requirements for the Parent Resident Visa have not changed.
To apply for a domicile visa you must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). If Immigration New Zealand selects your EOI, Immigration New Zealand may invite you to apply for residency. Immigration New Zealand selects EOIs from a draw by ballot every 3 months.
