The marriage of Shiva and Parvati took place in the Triyuginarayan Temple.

Triyuginarayan temple is known by the names Akhand Dhuni, Trijuginarayan etc. This temple is located in Triyuginarayan village of Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. There is a 2 feet high statue of Lord Vishnu at this place. According to mythology, after rigorous penance, Lord Shiva agreed to marry Goddess Parvati. It was at this place that Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva took seven rounds with fire as a witness.

Parvati's brother Vishnuji was present at this wedding ceremony.

The place which witnessed the fire is still burning today. Mother Parvati's brother Vishnuji was present in this marriage ceremony. Along with this, Lord Brahma himself was acting as the priest. Lord Vishnu did everything as a brother. Kanyadan was given. A stone called Brahma Shila in front of the temple is considered to be the exact place of the divine marriage.
