Greater Noida, 28 February (Hindustan Reporter). In the tenth match of the Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL), Chhattisgarh Warriors defeated Rajasthan Legends by 7 wickets. Former Indian fast bowler Munaf Patel was the hero of Chhattisgarh's victory in the match. He took a brilliant five wickets and demolished Rajasthan's batting line-up. Apart from this he also made one run out.
Rajasthan Legends team, who came to bat first, collapsed for just 110 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. His innings did not stabilize at any point and the team's wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Man of the match Munaf Patel wreaked havoc with his bowling and took five wickets for 9 runs in just three overs. Apart from this, he fielded brilliantly and ran out Sri Lankan all-rounder Seekkuge Prasanna.
Apart from Munaf, captain Shadab Jakati, Amit Mishra, Milinda Siriwardena and Jitendra Giri took one wicket each to keep Rajasthan below the normal score. Chasing a modest target of 111 runs, Chhattisgarh Warriors team had no trouble. The team won easily in 12.3 overs. Warriors openers Naman Ojha (27 off 20 balls) and Jatin Saxena (8) gave the team a good start before getting out. Gaurav Sachdeva took the wickets of both.
After this, Saurabh Tiwari, former batsman of Team India and having immense experience of IPL, played an unbeaten inning of 47 runs on 34 balls. He made things easier for the team by forming a crucial partnership with Ojha. After Ojha's departure, Gurkeerat Singh Mann (23 runs off 10 balls) played a quick innings and tried to take the team to the target as soon as possible. Mann's wicket fell in the 10th over but despite this, Tiwari along with Asghar Afghan (8* off 6 balls) gave an easy victory to Chhattisgarh Warriors.
