Basit Ali condemned Shami's remarks
Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has condemned the words of Indian fast bowler Shami and has described Shami's language as very bad. The former Pakistani batsman further said that 'the Indian fast bowler should have chosen his words properly.' Commenting on Shami's statement on his YouTube channel, Basit said, 'If you feel that Inzamam Bhai has said something wrong, then tell him in kind words. Don't call him (Inzamam) a cartoon etc. Give some respect. He is a senior cricketer. You should respect the seniors. If you do not do this, cricket will make you (Shami) cry 300 days out of 365 and keep you happy only for 65 days. Please don't do this, this is a personal request.'
What did Shami say?
Let us tell you that Shami, while commenting on Inzamam-ul-Haq's baseless allegations of ball tampering by Indian bowlers during the T20 World Cup 2024, termed it as 'cartooning'. Inzamam had made baseless allegations of ball tampering against the Indian team during the T20 World Cup. Inzamam also said that 'the umpires should have been more vigilant in the match against India and they should have kept checking the ball constantly because so much swing is not possible without tampering with the ball.' Reacting to Inzamam's statement, Shami called it a cartoon. Also, Shami said that 'Pakistan's selectors select the team on the basis of personal relationships. They should improve the selection process to improve the game.'
