Purnia, 22 July (HS). Due to continuous power supply disruption in Purnia and especially in the city, District Magistrate Kundan Kumar has given clear instructions to the officials of the electricity department to solve the problem of power cuts as soon as possible.
District Magistrate Kundan Kumar held an important review meeting with the executive engineers of the electricity supply division on Monday. In the meeting, the load shedding and power supply problems in the district were discussed in detail. The executive engineers said that due to extreme heat, there has been a sudden increase in the demand for electricity, due to which load shedding has to be done sometimes. However, he assured that now the situation is improving and people will get relief.
The District Officer directed to improve power supply and provide quality service. He also directed the Executive Engineers to submit a report on power supply every day. It was informed that the proposal to lay a new power line has been approved to solve the problem of low voltage in Amaur block. This is expected to improve the power situation in the area.
The requirement of land for the development of electricity related infrastructure was also discussed in the meeting. The District Magistrate directed to establish coordination between the concerned departments in this regard. While directing to ensure better electricity supply to the common people, the DM said that every possible effort should be made to increase the availability of electricity in the district. Senior officers of various departments including Additional Collector, Assistant Collector, Director DRDA, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar were present in the meeting.
