Bareilly, 22 July (HS). The protest against the increase in the house tax bills of the Municipal Corporation has intensified. Taxpayers gathered and gheraoed the Mayor's office. During this, they accused the Municipal Corporation of collecting house tax arbitrarily. Meanwhile, councilor Rajesh Agarwal also reached the Municipal Corporation with the taxpayers. Councilor Rajesh Agarwal met the Municipal Commissioner and Mayor Umesh Gautam and said that Bareilly is the only city in the whole of Uttar Pradesh where the public is being harassed in this manner.
Rajesh Agarwal said that the old taxpayer of the corporation who does not want to deposit his tax under GIS survey, the Municipal Corporation is giving him the acceptance form but the name of the bank and the account number are not printed on the form. The demonstration will provide great relief to the public from the wrong GIS survey of the Municipal Corporation and the exemption on mixed properties will be available again as before. Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Manch, Bareilly Trade Union, Bareilly Sangharsh Samiti, Bareilly Civil Society along with Sanjay Anand, social worker Pammi Warsi, Sanjeev Malhotra, Jitendra Mishra, Mukesh Kumar, Raj Narayan, Gohar Ali, Suman Mehra, Naved Beg, Rajiv Mohan, Nasir Ali were present in the demonstration.
