East Champaran, July 22 (HS). Mahatma Gandhi Central University located in Motihari has received the second prize in the National Expo held in Delhi. MGCUB has received this award for its better performance of its academic base including NEP based academic structure, emphasis on Indian knowledge system, option based credit structure, research oriented pedagogy, regularity of classes by experienced faculty, held at Bharat Mandapam New Delhi from 20 to 22 July 2024 among Central Universities, IITs, IIMs and other state and central government institutions.
During the expo, the university showcased Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, International Yoga Day, Fit India Week and other initiatives of the Government of India. Under the digital initiative, MGCU also highlighted the availability of e-resources, SWAYAM course integration, smart classrooms, Turnitin and Grammarly access. Through audio-visual displays, MGCU also showcased convocations, cultural and sports activities, publications, awards and patents by faculty members.
MGCU was represented in the program by Professor Shirish Mishra, Dr. Umesh Patra, researchers Ravi Ranjan and Naveen Kumar. Along with this, the team included Head of Chemistry Department Dr. Rakesh Pandey, Dr. Neelabh Srivastava, Dr. Kundan Kishore Rajak and Dr. Bablu Pal.
