Varanasi, 20 July (HS). On the first Monday of the month of Sawan, special arrangements have been made for easy darshan and security of the devotees visiting Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham along with crowd management. On Saturday, Varanasi Zone Commissioner Kaushalraj Sharma held a meeting with the officials of the temple trust, police, CRPF and district administration officials. In the meeting, the points of basic facilities to be provided to the devotees in the Dham premises were discussed. Emphasis was laid on establishing coordination among all the departments to implement the arrangements on a wide scale like availability of drinking water in the Dham, medical management, crowd management, PA system, cleanliness of the entire Dham etc.
The commissioner directed to keep all the electrical equipment, CCTVs working smoothly and fire fighting arrangements in order for the security of the Dham. After the meeting, the commissioner inspected all the arrangements related to the entire Shravan month in the entire Dham. He asked to complete the remaining preparations as soon as possible.
According to the officials of the Temple Trust, all preparations are being completed to welcome the visitors to the Dham. For the first time this year, entry has been arranged through the Silko gate. This year, arrangements are being made to reduce the pressure of the crowd by putting barricades on both the top and bottom of the zig-zag railing. This year, arrangements have been made to provide relief from humidity and heat to the devotees standing in queue through industrial air coolers. Apart from this, there will be arrangement of cold drinking water in the entire Dham area at regular intervals. Arrangements for medical management and ORS have also been made.
21 Yadav brothers were given permission to perform Jalabhishek
On the first Monday of the month of Sawan, only Yadav brothers perform Jalabhishek of Baba Vishwanath. This is an age-old tradition of Kashi. This time only 21 Yadav brothers have been allowed to perform Jalabhishek. The district administration has taken this decision regarding the safety of the crowd and devotees. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Commissionerate S Channappa and Chief Executive of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust Vishwa Bhushan Mishra held a meeting with Chandravanshi Gop Seva Samiti, Govardhan Puja Samiti and All India Yadav Mahasabha in the Pinak Bhawan of the temple. It was decided in the meeting that in view of the crowd of devotees in Sawan, only 21 Yadav brothers will perform Jalabhishek in the sanctum sanctorum. The rest will be given a glimpse from the western gate of the sanctum sanctorum. Yadav brothers will walk with water and flag while playing Damru. Committee President Lalji Yadav said that the yatra will go through traditional routes. The Kalash Yatra will start from Kedar Ghat at 8 am. After darshan at Gauri Kedareshwar temple, the yatra will go to Kashi Vishwanath temple after Tilbhandeshwar Mahadev, Badi Sheetala temple, Ahleshwar Mahadev. After this, Purnahuti will be done with darshan of Mahamrityunjay Mahadev, Trilochan Mahadev, Onkaleshwar Mahadev and Baba Lat Bhairav.
