The figures of last year's census in Pakistan have been released. According to this, the number of Hindus in Pakistan, which was 35 lakh in the year 2017, has increased to 38 lakh. The Hindu community is becoming the largest minority community in Pakistan.
According to the Dawn newspaper, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has released the data of the seventh census held in the year 2023. According to the census, the total population of the country is 24 crores 4 lakh 58 thousand 89. The figures say that in the year 2017, the Muslim population in the country was 96.47 percent, but in the year 2023 it has come down to 96.35 percent. In that period, the population of all major minority communities has increased in the last six years.
The population of the Hindu community has increased from 35 lakh in 2017 to 38 lakh in 2023. But their share in the total population has decreased from 1.73 percent to 1.61 percent. In other words, the population growth rate of other minority communities has remained high. The population of Christians in the country has also increased from 26 lakh to 33 lakh. Their share in the total population has also increased from 1.27 percent to 1.37 percent.
Both the Ahmadiyya population and their share in the total population have declined. Their population was 191,737 in 2017 which has come down to 1,62,684 in 2017. The Sikh community in Pakistan has a population of 15,998 and the Parsi community has a population of 2348.
