Yes, light to moderate rain is expected on most days during the next week, but these rains will also not be continuous and uniform. Due to such rain, major relief from heat and humidity cannot be expected in Kanpur division.
Dr. S N Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technology University, said on Friday that in the last 24 hours in Kanpur region, 14 mm rain was recorded in Kanpur Dehat, 24 mm in Hardoi, 0.8 mm in Hamirpur. During this time, intermittent showers occurred in some pockets for some time and most of the other places remained almost dry.

Kanpur may receive intermittent light rains during the next week, which will start from July 20 and 21. Light to moderate rain is likely to continue for the next few days. Due to which the cloud cover will give some relief. At the same time, the temperature will remain around 39 degrees Celsius during the day and humidity at night. Due to no rain, humid conditions may persist from afternoon to evening.
He said that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 40.8 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 28.6 degrees Celsius which was 5.9 and 2.7 degrees more than normal respectively. The relative humidity in the morning was 81 and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 84 percent. The wind direction was north-west with an average speed of 6.5 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, Kanpur will remain lightly cloudy in the next five days and there is a possibility of light rain locally with strong winds and thunder between 19 and 24 July.
