Ex-servicemen expressed their displeasure over not getting arms license

Meerut, July 19 (HS). A meeting of Sainik Bandhu was held in the District Sainik Welfare and Rehabilitation Office on Friday. In this meeting, ex-servicemen expressed their displeasure over not getting arms license, on which the officers assured to solve the problems.

In the presence of Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Balram Singh, a meeting of Sainik Bandhu for the month of July was held on Friday. In the meeting, it was ordered that the pending cases of ex-servicemen, especially the land disputes, should be resolved within a fixed time. In the meeting, ex-serviceman Anit Kumar, resident of Kulanjan village Sardhana, was asked to meet ADM FR for investigation of illegal mining from his farm. Regarding the proposal for allotment of land for agriculture to martyr Anil Kumar's wife Savita Devi, it was told that this proposal was passed. This proposal was sent for the approval of the government, but the file has not been returned from the government till date. Former Havildar Sushil Kumar, resident of village Neemka, Tehsil Mawana, told that his land dispute has been going on for one year. On which in the meeting of Sainik Bandhu, he was asked to meet the Additional District Magistrate (city) for land measurement. It has also been talked about taking action soon on the ex-servicemen whose gun licenses are pending.

Ex-servicemen told that the license work is stuck at the lower level and the documents are not even presented to the officer. Due to non-registration/renewal of gun licenses, they are not able to register for employment in Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation, which is creating problems in getting jobs. Due to Kanwar Yatra, no officer from the police department attended the meeting. District Sainik Welfare Officer Captain Rakesh Shukla, Naib Tehsildar Adesh Kumar, Shailendra Singh, Colonel Veterans DS Verma etc. were present in the meeting.
