The nearest airport to Rudranath temple is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. Which is about 241 km from Rishikesh. From here you can go to Gopeshwar by bus or taxi. From there you have to travel about 19 km on foot. March to May and October to November are considered the best time to visit Lord Shiva in Rudranath temple. At other times there is heavy snowfall and hailstorm, making the climb impossible.
