Mirzapur, July 18 (HS). Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi held a meeting with Joint Agriculture Director, Deputy Agriculture Director and District Agriculture Officers from across the state through video conferencing on Thursday. Joint Agriculture Director Dr. Ashok Upadhyay, Deputy Agriculture Director Vikesh Patel and District Agriculture Officer Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Yadav participated from Mirzapur. They reviewed the plantation program to be held on July 20 point by point.
The Agriculture Minister directed all officers and employees to plant a tree in the name of their mother. He said that taking it as a mass movement, people should also be inspired. Under the Land Conservation Scheme, trees should also be planted on the farm pond's bund, contour bund and total bund. Along with the agricultural area, all the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana should be made available with trees and they should be made to plant them. Fruitful trees should be planted in patches (clusters). The government is very serious about environmental conservation; no kind of negligence will be tolerated in this.
Joint Agriculture Director informed that a target of planting 5 lakh 36 thousand 313 saplings has been set in Mirzapur. All the pits have been dug. So far one lakh seven thousand 532 saplings have been planted.
