Auraiya, 18 July (HS). When the health of a middle aged man deteriorated, his family members brought him to Sahar Community Health Center, where he died. The family members created a ruckus accusing the doctor of negligence. Police and administrative officials reached the spot and pacified the matter and ordered a panel postmortem.
The villagers calmed down after receiving assurance of action.
Rameshchandra (40) son of Komal Prasad, resident of Purva Madari, Sahar, suffered severe stomach pain on Thursday night. The family took him to CHC Sahar for treatment. Seeing the seriousness of the condition, the duty doctor Pushpendra Kumar saw him and told that he had died. The family complained to the officials that the doctor saw him late. While the on-duty doctor Pushpendra told that he was present in the hospital and when he checked the patient Rameshchandra, he had already died. On getting this information, a crowd from the village gathered and started creating a ruckus.
On receiving the information, SHO Sahar Ajay Kumar reached CHC with police force and tried to convince the crowd but the family members said that the postmortem will not be done until the officials reach the spot. On the spot, Deputy District Magistrate Bidhuna Harishchandra, Police Circle Officer Bidhuna Ashok Kumar and Chief Medical Officer Sunil Kumar Verma reached CHC. They assured that an inquiry will be conducted, if anyone is found guilty, he will be punished. The deficiencies in the hospital will be rectified so that all the residents of the area can get timely and good treatment.
The deceased's cousin Anil Kumar wrote to get the postmortem done, then the officials filled the Panchnama of the dead body for postmortem through a panel and sent it. A large number of police force was called in so that the tension does not increase. The people of the area demanded from Chief Medical Officer Sunil Kumar Verma that there is a lot of trouble in CHC, due to which anger increases among the people. He assured to make arrangements to provide better treatment by removing all the shortcomings seriously. Police station in-charge Ajay Kumar said that the body has been sent for postmortem and peace and order is maintained.
