Kasganj, 17 July (HS). On the occasion of Muharram in the district, unruly elements tried to spoil the communal atmosphere by throwing eggs at the temple. Due to the anger of the people regarding the matter, the police reached the spot and assured strict action.
According to the information, priest Ram Khiladi Upadhyay, who takes care of the temple of Shri Radha Krishna located in Mohalla Indira Nagar in the Kotwali area of the town of Amapur in Kasganj, arrived for worship in the morning. He was stunned when he saw broken eggs lying at the door of the temple and in the temple premises near the Shivalinga. The priest immediately informed the local people, temple committee and Amapur Kotwali about this. The news spread rapidly in the district. Due to which anger and resentment started spreading among the Hindu society and Hindu organizations. All the Hindu organizations reached the spot and started protesting and raising slogans demanding the arrest of the anarchic elements.
On receiving information about the gathering of local people and officials of Hindu organizations at the temple, Additional SP Rajesh Bharti, Area Officer Sahawar Shahida Nasreen reached the spot with the entire police force and tried to pacify the people protesting. They also assured to catch the anarchic elements involved in the incident and take strict action against them as soon as possible.
Shri Radha Krishna Temple priest Ram Khiladi Upadhyay said that in the past too, incidents of egg throwing have been carried out thrice in the temple by miscreants.
Police Circle Officer Sahawar Shahida Nasreen said that the temple priest Ram Khiladi Upadhyay has filed a complaint against unknown people. Action will be taken soon on the basis of the complaint. She said that keeping in mind the sensitivity of the occasion of Muharram today, the police has increased vigilance in this case and additional police force has been deployed on the spot. Information is being gathered regarding the unruly elements and they will be arrested soon.
