Moradabad, July 17 (HS). District Magistrate and Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority Anuj Kumar Singh on Wednesday gave necessary instructions to the officials regarding relief and rescue in view of the situation of flood affected areas. Along with this, a detailed guideline was issued in accordance with the instructions given from the government level regarding minimizing the incidents caused by drowning in flood water. The DM said that do not do stunts or take selfies etc. while swimming or bathing in water, doing so can be fatal.
The District Magistrate informed that during floods in various areas, children, teenagers and adults die by drowning unknowingly due to various reasons while doing daily activities like bathing, bathing animals or washing clothes in water bodies like river, canal, well, pond, deep pit, lake, puddle etc. Through caution, vigilance and awareness, this precious life can be saved from being destroyed.
DM appealed to stop yourself and your family from going into fast flowing or swollen river, canal, drain, pond etc., stop children from jumping into water from bridge, culvert, high dunes and taking bath, do not go to the banks of river or water body, if absolutely necessary, keep in mind the depth while getting into water, if any advice or guidelines are written around that place or ghat, then follow them. Get into the water/take bath only if you know how to swim well, otherwise take bath only at the marked ghats for bathing told by the local administration. Many members of the family should not take bath together at the river or other ghats. If children have to take bath, let them do so only under the able supervision of elders. Parents should not leave young children alone near rivers and ponds to take bath in them.
