Moradabad, July 17 (HS). After the lease of Titus School of Christian community and its residential colony located in Civil Lines was cancelled due to violation of lease conditions, Nagar Nigam Moradabad took over the entire area on Sunday and also put up its board there on Tuesday. This action was taken on the basis of the investigation report of five police and administrative officers of the district. These officers included Moradabad's Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Gulab Chand, Additional Municipal Commissioner (First) Atul Kumar, Superintendent of Police City Akhilesh Bhadauriya, SDM Sadar Jitendra and Moradabad Development Authority's Special Executive Officer Parul Tarar.
Moradabad District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Singh had cancelled the lease of Titus School and its residential colony on July 13, three days ago, on the charge of violating the lease conditions of Titus School and its residential colony of Christian community. After this, the Municipal Corporation team took possession of Titus School and its residential complex on Sunday. On Tuesday, the Municipal Corporation has put up its board. The people living there have been given a two-month ultimatum to vacate the house, due to which the people living in the campus of Titus School are very scared. Samajwadi Party MP from Moradabad Lok Sabha, Ruchi Veera, along with the SP District President and SP officials, met the people living in Titus School and the residential complex built there and assured them that she is with them in this fight. For this, she will not back down from agitation.
The Minority Commission has also given its recommendation to take possession of the land of Titus School
The matter of Titus School located in Civil Lines, Moradabad had also reached the Minority Commission. Taking cognizance of Surjeet Kumar's complaint in this matter, the Commission had ordered the District Magistrate to investigate and take action. In this sequence, the District Magistrate had sent the investigation report conducted by a team of five officers at the district level to the Commission on April 1, 2024. After this, Commission member Navendu Singh Ezikel sent a letter to the DM on May 16, 2024 and recommended immediate stop to the illegal commercial activities going on on the concerned land, freeing the land from illegal occupation and registering a case against the concerned officials of Titus High School Management and Methodist Church in India under appropriate sections, along with taking possession of the land of the school campus and hostel etc. by the Municipal Corporation.
