Make these settings on WhatsApp from today itself, no one will be able to cheat you!

In today's time, news of online scams on WhatsApp is heard every day. WhatsApp is very easy to use and even less educated people use it easily. With WhatsApp we can easily chat, make video calls and share files with friends and relatives. However, many times we ignore some things that can lead to a scam. Making changes to your WhatsApp settings today can help you avoid potential scams.

WhatsApp Avoid Unknown Calls:

If you receive calls from unknown or fraudulent numbers, make sure to change this setting on your phone. This will not only save you trouble but also prevent potential scams.

Open WhatsApp and go to “Settings & Privacy”.

Click on “Calls”.

There, turn on the “Mute unknown callers” option.

After this you will not get calls from any unknown number and you will not be disturbed.

Block your number from joining WhatsApp groups:

Sometimes you might have seen that a known or unknown person creates a WhatsApp group and adds you to it. Messages keep coming in such groups throughout the day and sometimes scam links are also shared. Changing your settings can help you avoid this.

  • Open WhatsApp.
  • Click on Privacy there.
  • After this go to the group.
  • You need to change who can add me to the “My Contacts” group.
  • After this, only your contacts will be able to add you to a group; Others will not have the ability.

Turn off your WhatsApp location:

  • Open WhatsApp and go to “Privacy”.
  • After this click on “Advanced”.
  • Turn on “Contest IP addresses in calls”.
  • This way, your IP address will not be tracked.

Keep these things in mind also

  • Apart from this, keep updating your phone from time to time.
  • If you get a video call from an unknown number, never answer the call.
  • Never save unknown numbers.
  • Double-check before sending photos, videos or any important files to anyone.
  • If someone asks for money through QR then first verify and only then send the money.
