Moradabad, July 13 (HS). In Surajnagar of police station Katghar area of the metropolis, on Saturday morning, the police registered a case of dowry murder against the husband and 8 in-laws who fled after throwing the body on the bed after killing the wife by slitting her throat. After getting the forensic team to investigate, the police got the post-mortem done and handed over the body to the relatives.
Resham Rani (30 years), daughter of Naubat Ram, a resident of a village in the Mundhapande police station area, was married to Nareshpal Singh, son of Harpal, a resident of Mankara Milk village in the Mundhapande police station area, on 28 June 2020. She has two children, a three-year-old son, Devansh, and a two-year-old daughter, Mahi. Nareshpal works at a petrol pump.
The neighbours informed Resham Rani's brother Jagpal about this incident. According to Jagpal, when they reached there, Resham's body was lying on the bed soaked in blood. Both the children were standing nearby and crying. On receiving the information, CO Katghar Ashish Kumar Singh, SHO Sanjay Kumar reached the spot with the police team. The police called the field unit of the forensic department and got the investigation done and took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem.
Police Circle Officer Katghar Ashish Kumar Singh said that on the complaint of brother Jagpal Singh, a case has been registered against the accused husband Nareshpal Singh, his father Harpal Singh, mother Shakuntala, sisters-in-law Neetu, Babli and Poonam and two brothers-in-law under various serious sections including dowry murder, assault, dowry harassment. Police is conducting raids to arrest the accused.
