People living on the coast are leaving their homes fearing erosion due to floods

Ballia, July 13 (HS). Due to the rising water level of Ghaghra (Saryu) and Ganga, people are scared of erosion in the coastal areas. Due to the fear of erosion, people of many villages in Bansdih tehsil area have been forced to leave their homes. The administration has come forward to help.

Bhojpurwa, Khadipur and Sultanpur of Bansdih tehsil have been most affected by the flood. In Bhojpurwa, fearing erosion by the river, some families are leaving their homes and moving elsewhere with essential food items. The district administration has also instructed the remaining people to move to safer places on time. The SDM-Tehsildar of Bansdih has been instructed to provide immediate arrangements in relief camps to the families who are shifting and to ensure food and other arrangements for the affected families.

Additional District Magistrate DP Singh said that the local administration has been directed to ensure that the affected families do not face any inconvenience due to the erosion. He said that for the people or families whose houses are being destroyed, land has been identified and the process of housing allocation has been directed to be done immediately.
