Lucknow, July 12 (HS). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the three-day Mango Festival 2024 organized at Avadh Shilpgram on Friday. The Chief Minister also visited the exhibition of various varieties of mango. On this occasion, 15 tonnes of mangoes were sent to Japan by flagging off by the Chief Minister.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that mango is available to everyone. Progressive farmers and gardeners are honored in the festival. Our government is trying to reach the world market. For the first time, Lucknow's Dussehri mango went to America.
Yogi Adityanath said that the government is committed to the interests of farmers and producers. To make UP's mango popular in the world market, the quality will have to be improved and production will also have to be increased. The Chief Minister said that today the government is providing all kinds of facilities and incentives to mango farmers. Mangoes are being sent to world markets with the aim of making mango producers profit. This will save a lot of money for the farmers. This year 40 tons of mangoes will be exported to Japan and Malaysia. We have to produce mangoes for the common man as well as for the world markets. 25 to 30 percent of mangoes are produced in UP.
Yogi said that discussions will take place between mango producers and exporters in the Mango Festival. More than 700 varieties will be displayed in the Mango Festival.
Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh said that mangoes from Uttar Pradesh are being sent to the world markets on every outbound ship. There is a proposal to build a treatment power plant near Jewar Airport so that our produce can be purchased abroad. Mangoes have also been exported to Dubai, America, Malaysia. About 1000 varieties of mangoes are being produced in the state, which mainly include Dussehri, Langra, Chaunsa, Gaurjeet, Amrapali, Ramkela, Rataul, Lucknow Safeda, Bombay Green and other colourful varieties.
Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Agriculture Production Commissioner Devesh Chaturvedi and District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar were prominently present in the Mango Festival.
