Kannauj, July 12 (HS). The malpractices of the ration dealers in the distribution of free ration to the poor are not stopping. A similar case has come to light in Kannauj, where the Social Welfare Minister of the UP government, Asim Arun himself has come into action mode on the complaint of short weighing.
The minister has raided the warehouse of the ration dealer. This has created panic among the ration dealers and action has been initiated against the guilty ration dealer.
In fact, Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun had set up a district command center in Kannauj for the distribution of ration to poor consumers. He had appealed to the consumers that if any ration dealer commits short-weighing or harasses them, they can complain on the helpline number 1077 of the district command center. At the command center, the minister was informed about a ration dealer in Nasrapur of the district giving less ration to consumers. On this, the minister himself raided the warehouse of the ration dealer on Friday morning. The ration dealer got nervous when the minister reached the warehouse.
Along with checking the stock of the entire warehouse, the minister also tested the quality of ration given to the poor. During the investigation, the ration was also found to be bad. On this, the ration dealer said that he got bad ration from the food grain warehouse itself. However, the minister reprimanded the ration dealer for short weighing and directed the ration distribution officers to take action against the dealer.
Regarding this action, Minister Asim Arun said that 15 to 18 complaints were received on the command center number. He took cognizance of this and reviewed the ration distribution on the spot. A case of underweighing and bad ration has come to light in the distribution of a ration dealer. Instructions have been given to the concerned to take action on it. We and the government are ensuring that the poor do not get even a single grain less. Preparations are also being made to give a bigger form to the command, so that consumers do not face any problem.
