Woman accused of fraud case in Punjab arrested from Raxaul border

East Champaran, July 12 (HS). A wanted woman who was trying to flee to Nepal via Raxaul after committing fraud in Punjab has been detained by the Raxaul Immigration. After necessary interrogation, she has been handed over to the Hariya police station.

According to the information, the said fraud woman was trying to go to Birganj via Raxaul. She was caught during immigration clearance. The woman has been identified as Shalika Wadhwa, daughter of Harikash Chander, who is a resident of Main Bazaar Abohar Fazilka, Punjab. A case has been registered against her in Chandigarh police station on 6 December 23 in case number 127/2023 under sections 420 506/120B IPC.

Hariya police station chief Anjan Kumar said that after interrogation it was found that the Punjabi woman who was caught had many other cases of fraud registered against her in different places in Punjab. She has been continuously cheating people by fooling the police. After the raid by Punjab police, she was trying to flee abroad via Nepal. However, after Punjab police sent a notice to the immigration department, Raxaul immigration was constantly keeping a watch. After her arrest, she has been sent to judicial custody after necessary interrogation.
