Ballia, July 12 (HS). The three-day state level chess competition being held in the premises of Sunbeam School concluded on Friday with the announcement of the winners.
In this competition which was going on for three days, the players gave a tough competition to their opponents. Due to which the game went through many exciting phases.
On the last day of the competition, Archita Agrawal of Prayagraj got first place in the under 15 girls category and Ramanuj Mishra of Kanpur got first place in the under 15 open category. In the under 15 open category, Prakhar Tripathi of Varanasi got second place, Vidhi Angelina got third place, Arnav Agrawal of Prayagraj got fourth place and Shreyash Singh of Agra got fifth place.
Parallel to this, in the under 15 girls category, Aishani Pathak of Varanasi got second place, Nisha Bhushan of Unnao got third place, Deepanjali Shrivastava of Gorakhpur got fourth place and Riddhima Mishra of Kanpur got fifth place. In both the categories, the players who got first place were given cash prizes of four thousand, second place three thousand, third place two and a half thousand, fourth place two thousand and the player who got fifth place was given one thousand rupees.
To award the players, the chief guest was Kumari Karishma Varshney, coach of SGF I's Under 19 cricket team. Ballia Chess Association chairman Devendra Singh, secretary Upendra Singh and president Kunwar Arun Singh were also present. At the end of the program, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Upendra Singh, Dhirendra Rai, Tarun Saxena, Preeti Gupta, Abhay Tiwari, Pawan Kumar Gupta, etc. played an important role in the program. Principal Dr. Arpita Singh expressed her gratitude to everyone.
