Saharsa, July 11 (HS). Lakshmi Jha, daughter of Bangaon village in Kahra block of the district, has created history by hoisting the tricolor on Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak of Malaysia. Lakshmi is the first Indian woman to hoist the tricolor on this peak. Lakshmi's courageous act has elevated Saharsa's name in the country and abroad.
Regarding her expedition, Laxmi Jha told that she reached Chennai on 4th July by taking a flight from Delhi. From Chennai, she took another flight at 10 pm and reached Malaysia Airport at 5 am on 5th July. From here on the same day, she took a domestic flight at 6 pm and reached Kota Kinabalu at 8 pm. Laxmi told that after taking rest for two days here, she started climbing Mount Kinabalu at 10 am on 8th July and reached the base camp by 4 pm. From here, she started the final phase of climbing Mount Kinabalu at 3 am on 9th July and reached the peak at 6:40 am and hoisted the tricolour there. Laxmi told that while climbing the mount, she faced a lot of difficulties and along with rain, the weather was also very bad. I also got injured in my knees during the climb. Laxmi expressed her gratitude to former Rajya Sabha member RK Sinha for her success and said that due to his encouragement and help, today I have been able to succeed in climbing a long peak like Mount Kinabalu.
Shailesh Kumar Jha, Ashok Jha Lal, Sanjeev Kumar Jha, Pranav Prem, Nitish Kumar, Surya Prakash Jha, Shishir Kumar Baua, Shyamal Thakur, Nitish Kumar, Vikas Bharti, Ankush Vats of Azad Yuva Vichar Manch expressed happiness on this success of Laxmi. They said that Laxmi's success is a matter of pride for all of us. A sister is making the name of Saharsa district famous in the whole of India.
It is noteworthy that Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain of Borneo and Malaysia, whose height is 4,095 meters (13,435 feet). This peak is the third highest peak of an island on earth, the 28th highest peak of South East Asia and the 20th most prominent peak of the world. Lakshmi is the first daughter of India, who has made Saharsa's name high in the country and abroad by climbing Mount Kinabalu.
