Katihar, July 10 (HS). On the occasion of Muharram festival and Shravani fair, the Chief Secretary of the state held a review meeting with the District Magistrate through video conferencing on Wednesday regarding law and order in the district. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Meena and Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar were present in the meeting.
In the said meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed many important points regarding law and order on the occasion of Muharram festival, availability of magistrates and police force in the district, determination of route for organizing Muharram procession, approval of license for the procession, inspection of Karbala ground and disputed site and areas, determination of route and place for Tazia procession, power supply under alternative arrangement, verification of route through drone in urban and disputed areas, joint inspection of disputed site, deputation of ambulance and medical team on the occasion of Muharram, monitoring of social media platform to prevent any untoward incident and rumours.
The Chief Secretary directed to get the persons involved in the disputes that arose in the last several years verified, to obtain information about small mutual disputes occurring in various areas of the district and identify them, to personally inspect the identified and sensitive disputed sites and areas, to keep a strict vigil on all activities taking place in the identified communal areas and the persons involved during the elections, to keep a strict vigil on the identified anti-social elements and miscreants on the occasion of Muharram, and to keep a strict vigil on all social media platforms to prevent objectionable posts.
