Saharsa, July 10 (HS). The construction work of Kasturba Girls Hostel being built in Mahpura of Mahisi block of the district has been disrupted due to rain and waterlogging. The contractor representative said that the construction work of 100-bed Kasturba Girls Hostel in Mahpura has started from May 30 and is to be completed in nine months. The total estimated cost of the work is Rs. 2 crore 78 lakh 46 thousand 485.
He said that the work has been hampered due to the torrential rains, floods and seepage in the past few days and waterlogging of up to four to five feet around the site. The work is completely obstructed due to waterlogging all around. Looking at the site, it appears that the contractor may have to wait till November-December to start the work again.
It should be known that the said work site was already marked in the underground. On talking to the contractor representative, he told that till the time the vacant place is not filled with soil, the construction work of guard room and boundary wall will remain obstructed. Due to rain, soil is also not available now. In such a situation, to solve this problem, immediate instructions of the departmental officer are necessary for the construction work after conducting a site inspection. For this, necessary guidelines have been demanded by giving a written application to the concerned department so that the work can be completed on time.
