Nawada, 10 July (HS). Dozens of ANMs employed on contract in Nawada district went on indefinite strike and gheraoed the Civil Surgeon's office on Wednesday. Due to the indefinite strike of ANMs, many important works like vaccination of children are getting affected. Because, important campaigns like vaccination run in entire Bihar are dependent on these ANMs.
Let us tell you that the anger of ANMs reached the seventh sky when the Bihar government issued a Tughlaqi decree and ordered registration on the FRS portal, which ANMs are openly opposing. Along with this, the demand of equal pay for equal work is also being made by ANMs.
The ANMs have informed the civil surgeon about the indefinite strike by submitting a written application. Many important issues have been raised in the application submitted by the ANMs to the medical officer. They say that the salary of the ANMs working under NHM on contract basis is very low.
Now ANMs are being asked to register through the FRS portal and mark their attendance. Dozens of ANMs including Kumari Rohini, Rina Kumari, Deepmala Sinha, Neelam Kumari, Sonali Kumari, Sweety Kumari, Daisy Kumari, Annu Devi, Soni Kumari, Usha Kumari and Suhani Sinha were present on the occasion.
