Uttar Pradesh, July 8 (HS). Ghaziabad. NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goyal inspected the RRTS corridor from Meerut South Station to Sarai Kale Khan Station Delhi. During this, NCRTC Director and other officials were present with him.
This inspection started from Meerut South Station. Meerut South Station has been completed and Namo Bharat trains will soon start operating here. He closely examined the preparations for the operation of the station and also inspected the parking. Meerut Metro will start from this station, which will make the life of Meerut residents comfortable from Meerut South to Modipuram, for which three platforms have been built in this station, out of which 2 platforms will be for Namo Bharat trains and one platform for Meerut Metro. There is an 8 km section from Modi Nagar North Station to Meerut South, which will be opened to the public soon, after which Meerut residents will be able to reach Ghaziabad from Meerut South in a few minutes. Currently, the trial run of Namo Bharat trains is going on between Modi Nagar North and Meerut South station.
After this, he inspected the operational section of RRTS from Modi Nagar North to Sahibabad corridor and traveled in Namo Bharat train. During this intensive inspection, he also met the station controller, train operator and other operation staff and understood the problems faced by them in their daily activities. While knowing about the activities of successful operation of Namo Bharat trains in the operational section, he experienced passenger-centric facilities and safety with passengers like push button, PSD and inside stretcher space and the high speed of the train. Along with this, appreciating the cleanliness of the stations, he told the officials that we should keep taking steps to improve the level of cleanliness day by day.
At present, Namo Bharat trains are running on 8 stations in a section of 34 km from Sahibabad to Modi Nagar North. After the start of Namo Bharat services beyond Modi Nagar North to Meerut South, the length of the operational section of RRTS will become 42 km.
After this, he also inspected the complex construction works of New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan elevated stations under construction in the Delhi section. Meanwhile, he understood the complexities faced by the officials engaged in the rapid construction work of the corridor and motivated them. Along with this, he also instructed to strictly follow the safety and security norms regarding the construction work.
The length of the RRTS corridor in Delhi is 14 km, of which 9 km is elevated and 5 km is underground. Anand Vihar station is being constructed in the underground section. The viaduct construction in the Delhi section has been completed and the construction of the three under-construction stations has reached its final stage. Activities to connect these three stations with other modes of transport are also in full swing.
He said that the construction of the country's first Regional Rapid Transit System will boost the development of Delhi-NCR and a high-speed public transport system will be available for the people living here, in which the employees of NCRTC will play an important role.
