Administrative preparations for Kashi's Lakhha Rath Yatra fair, discussion on security and crowd


Varanasi, July 05 (HS). Administrative preparations for the Lakhha Rath Yatra fair in the religious city of Kashi are in the final stages. The officers have made full preparations for the gathering of lakhs of people and their security in the Rath Yatra fair starting from July 7.

After the Hathras incident, barricading will be done to strengthen the security system in the fair. On Friday, Additional Police Commissioner S Chinnappa along with the officers inspected from the Jagannath Temple in Assi to the fair site at Rathyatra. During this, he discussed security and crowd management. He talked to the chief priest of the temple, Radheshyam Pandey, about the preparations and crowd control of the Rathyatra fair. He said that barricading will be done to strengthen the security system. Police and PAC will be deployed in the fair for the safety of the devotees. Along with this, women police personnel in plain clothes and fire brigade personnel will be deployed in the fair.

It is noteworthy that after staying in isolation for a fortnight due to illness, Lord Jagannath, along with brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra, will go on a tour for Manfer on Saturday, July 6. The world famous Lakhha Rath Yatra fair of Kashi will also start from July 7.
