Ghaziabad, 05 July (HS). Six members of the 12-member Municipal Corporation executive committee were removed from the committee after their term ended. For this, a lottery process was adopted to draw slips with the names of the six members during a meeting held in the Municipal Corporation auditorium.
Slips with the names of all the 12 members were duly put in a box. The members who have been removed from the executive include Vice President Rajeev Sharma, Rajkumar Singh, Gaurav Solanki, Dhirendra Yadav, Adil Malik and Rekha Goswami.
Now during the meeting of the Corporation House, not only six new members will be elected for the corporation executive, but there will also be fresh elections for the post of vice-president of the corporation executive. Members are selected for two years for the corporation executive, but there is a tradition in the corporation that initially there is a provision for elections when the tenure of the members is one year.
