Mirzapur, 04 July (HS). The contract employees working in subdivision Kachwan of electricity department, angry due to non-payment of salary, protested at the office of the Executive Engineer in Fathan on Thursday. Angry due to non-payment of salary for four months, the meter readers and other employees accused the implementing agency of not paying salary on time and also withholding PF of 32 months. The employees gave a letter to the Executive Engineer and demanded payment of outstanding dues.
Om Prakash, Chandan, Suraj Singh and other employees said that Non RP, DRP meter readers are deployed through outsourcing at Kachhwa electricity sub-station. They have not been paid their salaries for the last four months. The angry employees on Thursday left their work and protested at the Executive Engineer's office and gave a memorandum to the Executive Engineer. They allege that the officers and contractors are only giving assurances. Despite this, the salaries have not been paid till now. As such, their livelihood is in limbo. They said that the problem of the meter readers' pending salaries and PF willing agency Sterling Technology and Services should be resolved soon.
