Hathras: The death toll in the stampede following a satsang program in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh has risen to 121, including 114 women. An FIR has been registered by the Uttar Pradesh Police in this case. However, the complaint does not name Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba, who organized the satsang.
Initial investigation has revealed that 80 thousand people were allowed for the program while 2.5 lakh people were present at the venue. Bhole Baba, who conducted the satsang, is still absconding but he has issued a statement claiming that the stampede happened after I left and no one is involved in this entire incident, this stampede was caused by outsiders.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the injured, after which he told reporters that strict action will be taken against those responsible, now an SIT has been formed to investigate the entire incident. In the police complaint, the police has been given a clean chit and it has been claimed that all the arrangements were made by the police. The FIR lodged at Sikandar Rao police station includes the name of the main sevadar Dev Prakash Madhukar who organized the satsang and other organizers. In which sections 105 (culpable homicide), 110 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Judicial Code and destruction of evidence have been charged.
According to the FIR, 80,000 people were allowed for the event, while more than 2.5 lakh people had gathered. The main speaker of the satsang, Bhole Baba, was about to end the program when a stampede broke out and on the other hand, due to the ruckus and heavy noise on the ground, a stampede occurred. However, the Baba who conducted the satsang has issued a statement and blamed some unknown anti-social elements for this. Narayan Sakar Hari alias Bhole Baba claimed in the statement issued that he left the place after completing the program, after which a stampede broke out, for which anti-social elements are responsible. We have handed over the matter to a senior Supreme Court lawyer for action against them.
When Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the injured, after which he said that the sevadars were pushing people, due to which the stampede occurred, the sevadars also tried to prevent the police from entering the venue. However, later when the administration was taking the injured to the hospital, all the sevadars fled from the spot. Action is being taken against those who are responsible. Meanwhile, an old photo of Bhole Baba with former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is going viral on social media. The SDM's investigation also revealed that Bhole Baba's personal security personnel had pushed the people accompanying him, due to which he fled.
On the other hand, an application has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the Hathras scuffle case and a demand has been made to investigate the entire matter by forming a panel of experts. This application has been filed by lawyer Vishal Tiwari. In which a report of the entire incident has to be submitted. It has also been demanded that the state government be ordered. At the same time, a PIL has been filed by lawyer Gaurav Dwivedi in the Allahabad High Court of Uttar Pradesh, demanding the entire case to be handed over to the CBI. At present, the injured are being treated and the SIT is investigating, although Bhole Baba is absconding and no one has been arrested yet.
