Jhansi, July 03 (HS). Divisional commissioner Bimal Kumar Dubey inaugurated the massive plantation program under the Forest Festival in Major Dhyan Chand Nagar forest located in Bhagwantpura. He planted maulshree and mahogany saplings along with many children of Pre Madhyamik Vidyalay Bhagwantpura and gave the message of environmental awareness. On this occasion of the Forest Festival program, District Magistrate Avinash Kumar decorated the earth by planting mahogany saplings along with local school children and inaugurating the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.
Divisional Forest Officer JB Shende, while shedding light on the massive plantation program under the Van Mahotsav Ko Phone Karo in the district, said that a total of more than 95 lakh saplings will be planted in the district by the Forest Department and other departments from July 1. Plantation will be done by various government and non-government institutions, organizations and the residents of the district at 4999 plantation sites in the district. He said that the Basic Education Department in the district is establishing Bal Van, Yuva Van in composite schools, Shakti Van in district level Gram Sabha. Fruitful and useful trees like mango, jamun, neem, peepal, banyan, pakkad, drumstick, teak, sheesham, chilbil etc. are being planted in the plantation. He informed about the organization of a procession rally of plants from the Divisional Forest Office on July 4 under the plantation awareness campaign. While planting saplings with school children, the Divisional Commissioner stressed on the utility and relevance of trees in human life and said that during the Covid crisis, the people suffering from lack of oxygen learnt this lesson that if there are trees, there is life. Therefore, along with planting trees, we will also have to be vigilant about saving them.
He requested all the officials including the school children present to plant 5 trees each and also stressed on their care. He said that when there will be growth of trees, only then will life grow. On the occasion of the launch of Van Mahotsav on the theme 'Breaths are becoming less, let us plant trees', the District Magistrate appealed to the general public to plant a tree in the name of mother and planted trees with school children in Major Dhyan Chand Nagar Forest Bhagwantpura under the 'Plant trees, save lives' public campaign- 2024. Everyone was made aware about the positive attitude towards nature to plant as many trees as possible and to stop the use of many substances like plastic which are dangerous for the environment and appealed to make this great campaign successful by planting trees. Vinod Kumar, Sub Divisional Forest Officer, RN Yadav, Regional Forest Officer, Tej Prakash Sub Regional Forest Officer, Amit Sharma Forest Inspector, Pradyumna Singh Bhadauria, Forest Inspector, Mahesh Yadav, Forest Inspector, Manoj Shrivas Forest Guard, Pushpendra Shrivas Forest Guard, Miss Pooja Forest Guard, Miss Manisha Forest Guard and other staff were present in the program.
