Jhansi, 03 June (HS). A young man climbed a mobile tower with a demand beyond the capacity of the officials. His demand was that he would come down from the mobile tower only when it rains. At first, he did not come down despite repeated persuasion by his family and villagers. After about 16 hours, when he understood that this demand was beyond anyone's control, he came down from the tower and the police administration along with the people heaved a sigh of relief.
The incident took place in Khadarka village of Lahchura police station area. Khadarka resident Dinesh Brar (38) is a farmer. On Tuesday afternoon at 12 o'clock, he climbed the mobile tower of the village. Initially, people did not understand anything, but he started shouting from the top that he has climbed the tower for rain. He will not come down until it rains. This created an atmosphere of panic. At first, the villagers tried to convince him, but he did not come down from the tower. Then his family members were informed. After this, Dinesh's wife, children and other family members reached the spot. They also asked Dinesh to come down, but he remained adamant and did not come down. Tired of this, the villagers informed the police in the evening. The youth was sitting at a height of about 40 feet on the tower.
On receiving the information of the incident, Mauranipur SDM Gopesh Tiwari, Mauranipur CO Lakshmikant Gautam and other officials reached the spot. The rescue operation continued to bring the youth down from the tower with the help of torch light in the dark. On Wednesday morning, Lahchura police station in-charge Balraj said that the youth was brought down safely after about 16 hours.
