A woman from Gwalior was travelling from Manmad to Jhansi with her 14-year-old minor daughter in the second AC coach of Mangala Lakshyadeep Express going from Ernakulam to Hazrat Nizamuddin. On Tuesday morning, when the train was about to reach Bina, a 46-year-old man in the coach took advantage of the situation and started making obscene gestures towards the minor girl. The girl got frightened and informed her mother about the acts of the middle-aged man. Hearing this, the mother also got upset and complained about the incident to the coach conductor.
On this, the coach conductor informed the Bina and Jhansi control rooms about the incident. But, unfortunately, security forces did not reach Bina. After this, when the train reached Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi station at 6.45 am, Deputy SS Commerce Vinay Kumar reached the train with RPF and GRP. While talking to the victim's mother in the coach, the Deputy SS got the accused middle-aged man off the train and handed him over to the GRP. At the same time, the victim went to Gwalior by Mangala Express, saying that she would register a case in Gwalior instead of getting off Jhansi.
Jhansi SP GRP Vipul Kumar Srivastava said that the victim has said that she will register a case in Gwalior, after which she was sent to Gwalior with security forces. The police is investigating the matter further and has said that strict action will be taken against the accused.
