Lucknow, June 28 (HS). Ananya Yadav, Nix Rajvanshi, Mohak Srivastava achieved golden success for host Uttar Pradesh on the first day of the 41st National Taekwondo Championship and 27th National Poomse Taekwondo Championship organized under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India.
In the final matches of the girls' category played on the first day, on Friday, players from Uttar Pradesh won three gold and one silver medal on the first day. On the other hand, players from Punjab also won two gold medals. Apart from this, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam also won one gold medal each.
This championship, organized in the badminton hall of KD Singh Babu Stadium, was inaugurated by the chief guest, Water Power Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government, Swatantra Dev Singh. On this occasion, the chief guest honored 40 players and personalities who made a significant contribution to Taekwondo by presenting them the Hall of Fame India-2024 Award.
Chief guest Swatantra Dev Singh said that the importance of sports has increased a lot in today's time. Sports provide all-round development to the player. During the opening ceremony, Grand Master Jimmy R Jagtiani (General Secretary, Taekwondo Federation of India), founder of Taekwondo in India, informed that the gold and silver medal winners of the 27th National Poomse Taekwondo Championship will be selected in the Indian Taekwondo team. The Indian team will participate in the World Taekwondo Poomse Championship from 23 to 27 November in Hong Kong.
Organizing committee chairman MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan said that more than 700 players and officials from all over the country are participating in the championship. Teams from Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, including host Uttar Pradesh are participating in this match.

In the matches of the first day, in the Girls Infant (5-7 years, Under-21 kg) category, Anjnya of Jammu and Kashmir won the gold medal and Avani Awasthi of Uttar Pradesh won the silver medal.
In the Girls Infant (5-7 years, Under-23kg) category, Shailvi Swarnkar of Uttar Pradesh won gold, Satakshi Tiwari of Delhi won silver and Anika of Madhya Pradesh won bronze.
In the Girls Infant (5-7 years, under-17kg) category, Mohak Srivastava of Uttar Pradesh won the gold medal.
In the Girls Infant (5-7 years, Under-19kg) category, Nitisha of Punjab won gold, Ayat Gori of Madhya Pradesh won silver and Dikshita Singh of Assam won bronze.
In the girl cadet (under-51kg), Latika Goyal of Punjab won gold, Tamanna of Haryana won silver, Shritama Chakravarthy of West Bengal and Nikki of Madhya Pradesh won bronze medals.
In the girls sub-junior (under-18kg), P. Vaishali of Tamil Nadu won the gold medal.
In the girls sub-junior (under-22kg), Arpita Ghosh of West Bengal won gold, Ashar Pritha Nipun of Gujarat won silver and Yuvika Hemchandra of Karnataka won bronze.
In the girls sub-junior (under-26kg), Nibrati Bora of Assam won gold, Sakshi of Haryana won silver, Priyanshi of Punjab and K. Koshika of Tamil Nadu won bronze medals.
In the girls sub-junior (under-35kg), Niks Rajvanshi of Uttar Pradesh won gold, Soman Dutta of Odisha won silver, Aarna Dhar of West Bengal and Pranitha Raj of Karnataka won bronze medals.
