In view of the ongoing violence in the East African country of Kenya against the government's proposed tax hike, the Indian Supreme Court on Tuesday issued an advisory to all Indians as a precautionary measure.

To avoid any untoward situation, the Indian High Commission in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, has issued an advisory to all Indians, saying that the situation here is tense, so all Indians are advised to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary movement and stay away from areas affected by demonstrations and violence.
Advice not to travel to violence affected areas
The Indian High Commission said, “Advice to Indian nationals in Kenya. Given the current tense situation, all Indians in Kenya are advised to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary movement and not travel to areas affected by protests and violence until the situation normalises.” The Indian High Commission wrote on the social media platform 'X'.
In another post, the High Commission said that keep an eye on the local news website and social media handles of the Indian High Commission for the latest information on the violence. According to a report, Kenyan President William Ruto has condemned the violent incidents and said that he will take a tough stand against 'violence and anarchy'. On the other hand, the United Nations has emphasized that people have the right to protest peacefully. The US has urged the Kenyan government to exercise patience.
