A delegation met the Governor to get Harsiddhi Degree College recognized

East Champaran, 25 June (HS). A group of students led by former minister and president of Mahavir Rameshwar Inter College, Awadhesh Prasad Kushwaha met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to integrate (merge) Harsiddhi Mahavir Rameshwar Inter College, Harsiddhi and Rameshwar Mahavir Evening Degree College, Harsiddhi and recognize them as an independent unit of degree college.

The delegation submitted a memorandum and demanded approval (merger) of Inter College and Degree College and recognition of Degree College as an independent unit. Former Minister Shri Kushwaha told that Mahavir Rameshwar Inter College is running in the same campus since 1985 and Rameshwar Mahavir Evening Degree College since 2011. Both the educational institutions are located near Harsiddhi main market and are located at an average distance of 25-35 kilometers from the nearby urban units Raxaul, Bettiah, Motihari and Areraj.

The building is being constructed by the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department of the state government near the academic campus. Hundreds of students residing in the nearby and far-flung rural areas are enrolled and studying in these two academic units. Among the enrolled students, there is a majority of students belonging to weaker economic groups, backward classes, extremely backward classes and scheduled castes and tribes. In such a situation, the immense public interest of the said institutions is visible from the local regional point of view. The delegation included young educationists Nagarjun Kushwaha, Naval Kishore Prasad and Brijesh Kumar.
