D. Terrorists killed 15 policemen and several civilians in Dagestan, Russia

Moscow: Terrorism is now spreading all over the world. It is not known when it will reach Latin America and South America. It is shaking India, Western Europe and Africa. So far Eastern Europe and Russia were kept out of it, but now its effect has started to be felt on Russia as well. On Sunday, a group of terrorists opened fire indiscriminately in the Dagestan region on the coast of the Korean Sea in South Russia and killed 15 police officers and several civilians. An Orthodox priest was also killed.

Dagestan Governor Sergei Melnikov said on Monday that gunmen opened fire on Orthodox churches and the Jewish temple of Sinai Gog in Makhachkala, Dagestan's main city near the Caspian Sea, and another nearby city of Derbent, killing 15 police officers and several civilians.

Officials in Makhachkala, the main city of Dagestan, said that the anti-terrorism committee has ordered immediate retaliatory action. Five terrorists were killed in this encounter. The governor told journalists that six terrorists have been killed. He admitted that the total number of terrorists is not yet known. Along with this, Governor Sergei Aliko announced three days of mourning on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dagestan's Interior Ministry said no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, but we have opened a criminal investigation under the anti-terrorism law.

Russian news agency TASS reports that the son of one of the officers has also been detained for being involved in the attack. Local officials said that the agency behind the attack will be found at all costs.

This is the second terrorist attack in Russia. Earlier in March last year, 145 people were killed in indiscriminate firing by terrorists at a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow. In this regard, the Islamic State (Khilafat) group itself has claimed to have carried out the attack.
