Varanasi, June 24 (HS). On Monday evening, a class seven student in Hukulganj of Pandeypur Lalpur police station area, upset by domestic discord, hanged herself in her room and committed suicide. Police officers also reached the spot after getting the information.
Shrilekha Pandey (14 years), a resident of Hukulganj, was a student of class seven. She lived with her uncle Sushil Pandey. Shrilekha's mother had passed away long ago. Father Sunil Pandey married a second time after the death of his first wife. Sunil also died in the year 2022. So Shrilekha started living with her uncle. Shrilekha often had arguments with her stepmother. Fed up with the daily quarrels, Shrilekha committed suicide by hanging herself with a dupatta on the second floor of her house. At the time of the incident, her stepmother had gone to Indore. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
