Chile and Peru ended their Copa America football tournament Group A match in a 0-0 draw, keeping Canada's hopes alive after losing its opener to Argentina.
Chile and Peru struggled in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying round, conceding just four goals in their 12 total matches. Alexei Sanchez missed a chance for Chile in the 16th minute. Sanchez was denied when Victor Davila headed a pass from six metres out into the box. Peru's Luis Advincula left the field in the 35th minute and midfielder Diego Valdes came on as a substitute. Peru's Miguel Araujo had an attempt on goal in the 43rd minute but Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo made an acrobatic dive to stop the ball.
