Varanasi, June 22 (HS). Banaras Hindu University is going to start three new scholarships for the students of Faculty of Education (Kamchha) and Central Hindu Girls School and Central Hindu Boys School (Kamchha). For this, the university has received financial contribution under the Pratidan initiative. Mumbai-based corporate personality Rahul Srivastava has contributed to establish these scholarships in honor of his maternal grandmother Bindhyachal Devi, grandfather Madan Mohan Prasad and aunt Bimla Srivastava.
Rahul Srivastava's father LP Srivastava retired as Additional Director General from Central Public Works Department after contributing to several projects for decades. After this, he served as Advisor (Construction) at IIT-Gandhinagar for almost a decade and played an important role in the development of the institute's magnificent campus. LP Srivastava recently met BHU Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain and praised the incomparable role of Banaras Hindu University in the field of education and in the creation of ideal citizens. Vice Chancellor Prof. Jain expressed his gratitude and thanks to the Srivastava family for establishing scholarships.
Bindhyachal Devi Scholarship (Rs 25,000 per annum) will be awarded to a student of first year of B.Ed. (Special Education) in the Faculty of Education. Madan Mohan Prasad Scholarship (Rs 5,000 per annum) will be awarded to a student of class 10 at Central Hindu Boys School and Bimla Devi Scholarship (Rs 5,000 per annum) will be awarded to a student of class 10 at Central Hindu Girls School. All these scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit and financial status.
