Kanpur, June 22 (HS). The development blocks in which the construction of new cow shelters is being done should be completed on a war footing and the honorarium of their caretakers should be paid on time. These instructions were issued by District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh in the review committee meeting on Saturday while doing district level monitoring and evaluation regarding the protection of destitute and helpless cows in the new auditorium located at Sarasaiya Ghat.
During the meeting, he also directed his subordinate officers to ensure availability of straw, green fodder and drinking water at the cow shelters. During this, the construction works of additional temporary cow shelters under construction in all the development blocks of the district were also reviewed. In the review meeting, while instructing the officers related to the cow shelters, he said that for the production of green fodder, the pasture land should be marked and affiliated and Napier and green fodder should be sown on the Sabat pasture land.
The updated status of the fund request for the maintenance of the cows kept in the cow shelters should be ensured. Adequate arrangements should be made to protect the cows kept in the cow shelters from the scorching heat and heat wave. Cleanliness and large-scale tree plantation should be ensured in all the large, temporary cow shelters operating in the district.
All Block Development Officers were directed that the construction work of cow shelters should be completed on war footing in all the development blocks where new cow shelters are being constructed. Block Development Officers were directed to make adequate arrangements of green fodder, drinking water and straw for the cows protected in all the operational cow shelters. All Block Development Officers and Assistant Veterinary Officers should hold a coordination meeting every 15 days to solve the problems arising in the cow shelters. During this, Chief Development Officer Sudhir Kumar, Sub-District Magistrate Prakhar Kumar Singh, District Veterinary Officer and other concerned officers were present.
