Another big blow to Iran, the second enemy after America

Canada has created another problem for Iran. Western countries are constantly imposing sanctions on Iran. It is becoming difficult for Iran to deal with them. In another move against Iran, Canada has listed its major force, the IRGC, as a terrorist organization.

According to BBC news, the Canadian government has taken this step under pressure from the opposition and some Iranian tourists. For years, the opposition and Iranian expatriates have been demanding the Canadian government to declare the IRGC a terrorist organization. After this step by Canada, no IRGC official will be allowed to come to Canada. America, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Sweden etc. have declared the IRGC a terrorist organization.

What is IRGC?

The IRGC is Iran's exclusive military, political and economic force, directly linked to Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei. According to an estimate, the IRGC has about 190,000 active troops and has its own ground forces, navy and air force separate from the Iranian army. According to Iran's opponents, the IRGC provides money, weapons, technology, training and advice to its representatives abroad. The IRGC is believed to be conducting its operations not only in the Middle East but also in many countries around the world. The IRGC is accused of helping the Yemeni Houthis, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, among others.

Warning to Canadians

Following the announcement, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly warned that Canadians in Iran were at risk of being detained. “For those who are in Iran now, it’s time to come home, and for those who are thinking of going to Iran, they should not go,” she said.
